Naval, Biliran – A grass fire caused a 13 -hour power outage in the entire Biliran Electric Cooperative (Bileco) coverage.

The entire province of Biliran was plunged into darkness shortly before Sunday night, March 10, due to an unscheduled power outage.

POWER UPDATE:
The National Grid Corporation of Philippines (NGCP) has called for an emergency power interruption this afternoon, March 10, due to a burnt pole at Brgy. Palarao, Leyte affecting the entire franchise area of BILECO. Power restoration activity is on-going. NGCP has informed us that power might not be restored until tomorrow as there were two (2) structures in Brgy. Palarao that were affected.
Pls keep posted for updates on power restoration. Kindly disseminate information.

Power was restored at 4:41 AM, after the NGCP and Bileco personnel worked together to repair the burnt NGCP poles. – BiliranIsland.com
