ALMERIA, Biliran – Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) Region 8 gave warning to the fishermen of Sitio Batang, Brgy. Pili, Almeria, to stop using an illegal method to lure or catch fish called baling (trawl). They will confiscate their fishing equipment if they will use baling.

The fishermen in Batang are asking why they are not allowed to catch anchovies (bolinaw) that approach their shore. They do this seasonally, around March and April. – BiliranIsland.com
