NAVAL, Biliran – The Province of Biliran headed by the PDRRMO conducted the 3rd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) participated in by the BFP, BPH, PNP, NavRU and the government employees of the Provincial Capitol in Naval, Biliran today, August 8, 2019.
NSED is part of the Office of the Civil Defense’s “BIDA ANG HANDA” campaign, which aims to promote awareness on how we should respond and prepare in times of earthquakes and other hazards.
This quarterly drill demonstrates the community’s preparedness for a strong earthquake that might hit our province as well as the implementation and usefulness of its preparedness and response plans, systems and policies.
With the conduct of this drill, we are empowering the people not to be victims of disasters, rather become resilient survivors. We all should take this drill seriously since no one really knows when and where an earthquake would hit us. – BiliranIsland.com
