Naval, Biliran – A drug personality who was released from prison last September 2019 after applying for a Plea Bargaining Agreement is back to prison after he was arrested by a combined force from PDEA Biliran and operatives from the Station Drug Enforcement Team of the local police about 12:20 noon on Friday (Feb 14) at Brgy. Police Major Erifrando Castila, COP Police Major Erifrando Castila identified the suspect as Rodnie Maca y Alandra, 34, married, jobless and a resident of the barangay.
Recovered from his possession was one sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu worth P500, procured by a poseur buyer cop. During body search in front of PB Francisco Baco, and media man Anthony Marlon Mecaral, the searching cop recovered a folded paper that contains one sachet containing the same white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu with an estimated street value of P1000 and another 3 empty sachets containing residue of suspected shabu. Further search also resulted to the recovery of P500 bill with serial number PS545159 which was used for the operation and more than P2000 cash in different denominations suspected to be proceeds from selling the illegal drugs.
The suspect denied owning the evidences recovered from him, saying they were just planted by the police. He said he had already changed his life after he was arrested on April 2, 2016 and spent more than 3 years in jail.
But the police just laughed off Maca’s claim, saying it was the barangay officials that reported to the police of his illegal activity.
Charges of Violation of Sec. 5 (Selling illegal drugs) and Sec 11 (Possession of illegal drugs) of Art. II of RA 9165, the Comprehensive Law against Illegal Drugs of 2002, is being readied by the arresting officers against the suspect who is temporarily languishing at the lock up cell of Naval PNP here. – BiliranIsland.com
