NAVAL, Biliran – A trisikad driver died on the spot after a single motorcycle hit him when he alighted from his driven trisikad around 6:30 p.m. today, May 5, along the National Highway in Brgy. Atipolo of this capital town.
Naval Chief of Police Major Eriprando identified the victim as Tradio Teradio y Montecillo, 48, single, a resident of Kansanok, Kawayan, Biliran. The suspect was identified as Erwin Helboy y Padoga, 33, married, driver and a resident of Sitio Butay, P. I Garcia here.
Initial investigation disclosed that the victim, who was driving his trisikad, was traversing the national highway when he suddenly stopped. The victim, according to witness Arsenio Catigbe, 59, alighted from his trisikad for unknown reason. But unknown to the victim, a single motorcycle a Honda RS 125 driven by the suspect and running at a fast speed suddenly appeared and hit the victim.
The impact slumped the victim to the concrete road head first, resulting in a broken skull. Rescue group of this town rushed the victim to the Rural Health Unit, but Dr. Fernando Montejo, RHU officer, declared the victim DOA.
The suspect, who was also injured was brought to the police station here after treatment. – BiliranIsland.com
