Naval, Biliran – On May 7, 2020 at 11:30 a.m., five persons were arrested and many others eluded arrest in Brgy. PS Eamiguel for engaging in illegal cockfight amid this community quarantine.
Twenty five more persons were positively identified by the raiding personnel who arrested five suspects.
OIC Chief PMAJ Eriprando B. Castila of the Naval Police Station said that an informant reported the matter to the police. He then sent a team of operatives to check the illegal activity and caught the suspects in the act.
Recovered from the scene were two fighting cocks with gaffs (one fighting cock with one gaff, dead, and the other fighting cock with two (2) gaffs, alive), seven wounded fighting cocks, one dead fighting cock, six pairs of slippers, and two bull caps.
The suspects were brought to the Naval Police Station and will be properly charged. – BiliranIsland.com
