Kawayan, Biliran— Two sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu were recovered by operatives of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of Biliran Provincial Police Office and the Municipal Drug Enforcement Team of the local police during a buy bust operation about 3:00 in the afternoon today (Sept 12) Brgy. Bulalacao here.
PDEU Chief Police Capt. Chamberline Ludivise identified the suspect as Ariel Remandaban, a.k.a. Raffy, 23, single, farmer and a resident of Brgy. Mapuyo, Kawayan, Biliran.
Recovered from the suspect were two sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu procured by an operative in the amount of P500. During body search in front of barangay officials and media, the searching cop recovered one piece P500 bill bearing serial number RF883198, a marked money used for the operation. No other illegal item was recovered from the suspect.
The suspect denied owning the illegal items allegedly procured by an operative from him. He said he was in the area to visit his cousin and have a drinking session when he was allegedly picked up by the police.
Charges of violation of Sec 5 (Selling illegal drugs) and Sec 11 (Possession of illegal drugs) of Art II of RA 9165, the Comprehensive Law against Illegal Drugs of 2002 is being readied by the arresting police against the suspect who is temporarily detained at the Kawayan Municipal Police. – BiliranIsland.com
