Naval, Biliran – The move by the Department of Justice, through the National Bureau of Investigation, to look into the alleged P10 billion scam involving the use of solons’ Priority Development Assistance Funds (PDAF) for fictitious projects, is being lauded by lone Biliran Representative Rogelio J. Espina.
Espina said he has conveyed his appreciation for Justice Secretary Leila de Lima regarding this initiative to investigate said release of PDAF, which he said includes some P500 million to projects in Biliran. “Those found to be involved in the scam should face the necessary charges,” he said.
The Biliran representative said that when he assumed office in 2010, he had already alerted Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Rogelio J. Singson on what apparently were questionable use of the PDAF.
