Update: 5:00 pm July 22,2014: 

According to Mayor Doming Agahan of Almeria, repairs are still ongoing on their piped water system, expected to temporarily flow by tomorrow.

Update: 8:30 pm July 21,2014:  Still no classes in Almeria tomorrow (July 22).

Naval Mayor Susan Parilla and Kawayan Mayor Rudy Espina announced that classes will resume tomorrow (July 22) in their respective towns.

As of 5:40 PM Almeria exit going to Masagongsong entrance 3-phase structure has already been energized. -BILECO

Update: 1:30 pm July 21,2014:

In an interview with NWD Manager Mario Robenta, he said that water supply for Naval poblacion has been restored. They have repaired the damaged supply pipe from Bungot Spring, Lico. While for Atipolo, Agpangi and Sabang, no water supply yet. They could not repair yet the Sabong Spring in Talustusan because the soil is still soft. They hope to repair it within this week.

Update: 3:22 pm July 21,2014: At 3:22 pm, The Naval to Kawayan highway is now passable to vehicle traffic.

Biliran Geothermal is mobilizing its equipments to help the DPWH and the Biliran Provincial Govt in the landslide clearing operations along Naval – Almeria road.

Update: 6:30 am July 21,2014:

Classes at all levels suspended in Kawayan by Mayor Rudy Espina.

According to Mayor Agahan of Almeria, the main pipe of their water source in Brgy. Caucab has been damaged by floodwaters yesterday.

Update: 5:53 am July 21,2014:

So far, no casualties have been reported from yesterday’s flooding in western Biliran.

Mayor Doming Agahan of Almeria announced the suspension of classes at all levels in his town today. Only municipal employees are required to report to work.

The highway from Naval going to Tacloban or Ormoc is now passable.

URGENT: To all Biliranons living along river banks. The water levels have risen. Evacuate now.

Update: 8:34 pm July 20, 2014: Just In. No classes for all levels, elementary to college, in Naval tomorrow, suspended by Mayor Susan Parilla.

Evacuation and rescue operations on-going in Almeria. Many people were trapped by the flash flooding. No declaration about suspension of classes yet from the Almeria mayor.

Update: 4:00 pm July 20, 2014:

15-20 pipes of the NWD main source of water were washed-out/destroyed by a landslide due to heavy rains brought by Typhoon Henry!

NWD General Manager Mario Robenta said over 103.9 Radyo Natin FM, Naval that the water supply in Brgys. Agpangi and Sabang and some parts of Atipolo was cut-off due to the flooding, and that there will be no water supply in these areas until tomorrow, Monday, July 21, 2014. He assured that NWD will do its best ways to restore the water supply for the affected barangays. He also hopes for the consumers’ understanding and consideration of the said problem caused by a phenomenon which is beyond man’s control. (Lorenzo Dela Cruz)

From Zette Garcia of Almeria: From 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., the entire poblacion was flooded. The evacuation centers were the Four Square Gospel Church, the Asemco Learning Center, and the Almeria National High School. No casualties, but many evacuees. more than 350.

Almeria experienced the highest rainfall levels this afternoon among all towns in Biliran.

When the flood waters rose in Almeria, Bileco simultaneously cut their power supply. Now the town has also been deprived of its pipe water supply.

Kawayan also does not have power supply now, being part of Feeder 1.

According to Gov. Gerryboy Espina, there are landslides in Sabang, Naval and Tamarindo, Pili, Masagongsong and Tabunan in Almeria. LGU Naval and the provincial government are helping the locals cope with this disaster.
