Tonolete, Tablate reigns Mr. & Ms. NSU 2014

NAVAL, Biliran – Leo Miguel Tonolete and Charmin Tablate emerged victorious among 14 female and male candidates to win this year’s Mr. and Ms. Naval State University 2014 title, in line with its 42nd Founding Anniversary held at Naval State University gymnasium on Tuesday night.

An 18-year old lad from Carigara, Leyte and taking up Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Managament, Tonoleteproudly represented College of Tourism and retained the title clutched last year by the college whom his older brother was the titleholder, David Mikhail Tonolete-Mr. NSU 2013.

On the other hand, Tablate, a 16-year old lass from Calubian, Leyte and 2nd year Bachelor of Science in Nursing made history for the College of Arts and Sciences after bringing home the crown which has been elusive for the college in the past years.

During the final round, Tonolote was asked the significant impact of the 42 year old existence of NSU to the lives of the students.

He answered: “NSU is a venue of excellence for how many years of decades. Indeed NSU continuously bringing out the best for each in every one of us. And I firmly believe in myself that I have the capacity and knowledge to help, promoting and uplifting Naval State University by being a good example to all students and to become a globally competitive to all universities.”

Meanwhile, Tablate was asked how NSU brings out the best of the students.

She answered: “Naval state University is celebrating 42nd founding anniversary, Naval State University make it, makes, makes the best, Naval State University brings out the best because Naval State University has the unique quality of being a catalyst of change, they are not afraid of taking risk specially for the betterment of the University when it comes to curriculum, sports and for the betterment of this University and that would be all thank you. .”

Both Tonolete and Tablate will be representing the university on the upcoming Mr.and Ms. Regional SCUAA 2014 this October.
