TACLOBAN CITY, Leyte, Jan.9 (PIA) –The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 8 (PDEA8) conducted a twin anti-drug operation in the region early this year.
PDEA OIC regional director Laurefel P. Gabales said, anti-drug operatives from PDEA regional office in coordination with police authorities from Dolores Municipal Police Station nabbed a PDEA watchlisted drug pusher during a buy bust operation at Brgy.12 Poblacion, Dolores Eastern Samar on January 5.
The suspect a resident of said place was caught while selling one piece heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected as shabu. Upon subsequent search, another sachet was found in the suspect’s possession.
Rogelette T. Urgel, PDEA 8 acting public information officer in a press release said that on the same day, another suspected drug pusher was nabbed by the joint operatives from PDEA 8, Biliran Provincial Police office and Naval Police station in P. Inocentes St., Brgy. P.I. Garcia, Naval, Biliran during a buy bust operation.
The suspect, a resident of Brgy. Sto. Nino, Naval, Biliran was also caught by the authorities while selling one piece heat-sealed plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected as shabu.
Both suspects are now facing charges for violation of Section 2 (sale of dangerous drugs) and (possession of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (jrc/cba/PIA-8).
