NAVAL, Biliran – The provincial office of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in Biliran announces that the TESDA Automotive Mechanic Training Center at the Regional Training Center in Brgy. Abucay, Tacloban City is now undergoing recruitment of its 12th batch of scholars.
According to Elizabeth Garcia, provincial director of TESDA-Biliran, the scholarship offers a two-year training in Automotive Servicing from NC Level I to IV and the student enjoys free tuition fee, course materials and board and lodging for the duration of the training period.
She said, applicants to the scholarship program must come from poor and low income families and must be residents in Eastern Visayas in region 8.
Likewise, she informed that the applicant must be 16-21 years old until his admission to the scholarship program in August, 2015; must be a high school graduate; single and morally upright; has a good mental, emotional and physical health; has interest to become an automotive-service technician.
Further, the applicants must have the support of their parents or guardians to avail of the training program and they must be willing to work immediately after completion of the training program.
Documentary requirements to be submitted include the following: duly accomplished application form; letter of intent indicating reasons for applying the scholarship program; live birth certificate or NSO live birth certificate, Xerox copy only; photo copy of form 137-A or 138-A; photo copy of the result of the National Career Assessment Examination; photo copy of high school diploma or school certification of Graduation and Completion; barangay clearance and original copy of the certification of indigency.
