Naval, Biliran—One of the remaining suspects in the manhandling of three persons in 2019 was arrested around 9: 22 in the morning on Friday (Sept. 18) in Brgy. Imelda here.
Naval Chief of Police PMAJ Michael John M Astorga identified the apprehended suspect as Jefferson Tambis y Parac, 20, single, laborer, and a resident of the said barangay.
The suspect was arrested by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest issued by Hon. Luz P. Navarrete, Presiding Judge RTC Branch 16, dated June 26, 2020 for Murder docketed under CC no. N-3971.
The charges stemmed from an incident on Nov. 11, 2019 at V & C, BAM in Brgy. Calumpang, when the arrested suspect along with two others manhandled three victims in a case of “tripping”. Records show that of the three victims, one opted for settlement while another did not file any charges. But the victim who was severely injured from the manhandling filed the charges against the three suspects. Thus a warrant of arrest was issued by the court.
The court recommended a bail bond of Php 200,000.00 for the three suspects with one still at large.
