Naval, Biliran— Two sachets containing suspected shabu were recovered by operatives of the Station Drug Enforcement Team from a vacationing student from Cebu City during a buy bust operation about 2:22 in the afternoon today Wednesday (Sept 23) at Icain St., Brgy. Santissimo Rosario here.
Police Major John Astorga, Chief of the Naval Police Station, identified the suspect as Jay Vincent Elison, 23, student and a resident of the said place.
Recovered from his possession were two sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu procured by an operative in the amount of P1,000 and the two pieces P500 bills bearing serial numbers PW242768 and AQ26124, the marked money used in the operation.
The police also seized one red Realme Smart phone owned by the suspect. During body search in front of Barangay Officials and media, no other illegal evidence was recovered by the police from the suspect.
The suspect denied owning the illegal evidences recovered from his possession, but did not elaborate.
Charges for violation of RA 9165 the Comprehensive Law against Illegal Drugs of 2002 is being readied by the arresting police to the suspect who is temporarily languishing at the detention cell of Naval Police Station. – BiliranIsland.com
