Naval, Biliran— A self-employed male factor is presently languishing at the detention cell of the local police station after an entrapment operation from a complaint of a female student was received by the police that resulted in his arrest about 6: 45 in the evening on Wednesday (Aug. 24) inside a lodging house here.
Naval COP Police Major Ryan Delima described the arrested suspect as a 28 yr old male factor, single, self-employed a resident of this municipality, while the complainant was a 23, female college student and a resident also of this capital town of the Province of Biliran.
The police said that at around 10:00 in the morning yesterday (Aug 24) the female complainant/victim personally appeared at Naval Municipal Police Station reported and alleged that said suspect has threatened her thru messenger chats to post her sex video online if she will refuse to meet and check-in with him in a motel for the last time.
Investigation conducted by the local police revealed that the victim and suspect knew each other on Facebook and met in different occasions and had sexual relationship. The victim narrated that during their intimate moments, the suspect took videos of her and trusted that he would keep it by himself. She added that just recently she decided to cut contact with him and unfriended him on Facebook.
The complainant continued that her unfriending decision turned the suspect to get mad at her and the threats were made that caused emotional distress to the complainant. Acting on the complaint and information an entrapment operation was planned by the local police to arrest the suspect. The victim agreed to the suspect’s desire and agreed to meet at a local motel.
A team led by COP Police Major Ryan Delima proceeded to the lodging house to conduct an entrapment operation. At about 7:45 in the evening after the victim gave her go signal that they were already inside the motel room, the operating unit went to their room and arrested the suspect.
Charges of Grave Threats (Sextortion) under paragraph 1 of Art 282 of RPC in relation to Sec., 6 of R.A. 10175 (Cybercrime) and Psychological Violence in violation of R.A. 9262 (Anti-VAWC) are being readied by the arresting police against the suspect.
The personnel from Naval Municipal Police that arrested the suspect was led by COP Police Major Ryan C. Delima, together with Police Executive Master Sergeant Alan E Delis, Police Staff Sergeants Venus G Abrigo, Paloma Grace L Tarongoy, Police Corporals Rodel Q Roque, Joemark Napalit, Reuben Retanal, Jhunmart Delima and Eladio S Francisco.
