STATUS OF BILIRAN DEO’S FY 2016 INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS

Taking advantage of the good weather condition, DPWH-Biliran District Engineering Office (BDEO), is now in full implementation of its FY 2016 Infrastructure Projects. Most of the Contractors have started their work earlier in order to attain the target schedule, hence with positive slippages. As of March 31, 2016, the District has an overall actual accomplishment of 37.40% with a positive slippage of 15.40%. This is in accord with the policy of the Department to implement the right project with the right cost determined through competitive and transparent public bidding with the right quality in accordance with international standards delivered at the right time through close monitoring of project implementation carried out by the right people who are competent and uphold the values of professionalism, integrity, excellence, public service and teamwork.

As was previously published, the District has been allotted P 683.745 Million under FY 2016 DPWH Infrastructure Program. The District’s projects are broken down as follows: National Road Network Services (MFO 1)costing P 334.745 M; Flood Management Services (MFO 2) with a cost of P 174.0 M; Maintenance and Construction Services of Other Infrastructures (MFO 3) with a cost of 45.0 M for Roads leading to Tourist Destinations; and Local Infrastructure Program costing P130.0 M. Out of the allotted amount, P135.0 M is for implementation by DPWH Regional Office 8 which involves the Rehabilitation of a section of Maripipi Circumferential Road while 66 projects will be implemented by Biliran DEO.

As of this writing, Biliran DEO has already completed its Pre-Construction activities. Its overall accomplishment under PDE is 100% as of March 31, 2016. Biliran DEO’s projects based on the FY 2016 GAA consists of five (5) projects under Asset Preservation of National Roads; two (2) projects under Network Development; five (5) projects under Construction and Maintenance of Bridges; twelve (12) projects under Flood Mitigation and Drainage; one (1) project under Access Roads leading to declared Tourism Destinations.

The District’s Local Infrastructure Projects is comprised of Multipurpose Facilities projects; 7 Local Roads projects; and 8 Water Supply projects while the Region wide projects is composed of 6 Revetment projects and 5 Local Road projects.

DPWH-Biliran DEO being one of the agencies’ implementing arms of its infrastructure programs tasked to provide and manage quality infrastructure facilities and services is confident to implement its infrastructure facilities right on schedule. The District implements the government’s programs with the end view to provide safe, fast, economical mobility of people, goods and services, protect lives and properties against major floods and living condition of population enhanced through improved Local Roads.
