NAVAL, Biliran – A serial sex fiend believed to be responsible for as many as eight attacks in different barangays of Naval was busted through the coordination of the municipal PNP and the Liga of the Barangay. The suspect was nabbed after the police connected him to the murder and possible rape of Rose Ann Sanchez.
The depraved attacks spanned the month of July 2016 include the burglarization, attempted sexual assaults and the ultimate crime, the murder of a young college student.
The authorities got a break when they found the suspect near the crime scene of the murder victim. An illegal drug paraphernalia was found in his possession after the arrest.
The suspect is currently detained at the Naval police station. At this time seven of the alleged victims positively identified him as the culprit behind the attempted attacks. He confessed to these assaults and to the murder of Sanchez.
The suspect was identified as Ronald Resallosa Santos , a 23 year -old “mais” vendor from Culaba, Biliran. He is more known as ” Bahaw” a familiar fixture around Naval town. The latter was reported to be suffering from an unidentified mental illness.
The police are preparing charges that may be filed against the suspect. Possible cases may be 1) attempted assault with intent to murder or rape 2) murder and 3) unlawful entry. -BiliranIsland.com
