NAVAL, Biliran – The police investigators are looking for leads that will identify the suspect who smashed the head and possibly raped a 20- year old graduating nursing student who then died.
Rose Anne Sanchez, a 20-year old NSU student was found bloodied inside their home by his brother, Brgy. Counselor Jimmy Sanchez at Sitio Mangga, Brgy. Calumpang.
Her brother, a Brgy. Mainit, Caibiran counselor narrated to the police that around 12:30 in the morning of August 22, 2016, he heard his sister doing hard breathing. He then knocked in the division separating their bed room and called her name. When she didn’t answer, he then proceeded to peep in her door and that was when he saw her in a bloodied mess. He forcibly broke the door and transported the victim to Biliran Provincial Hospital (BPH ) for medical attention. Rose Ann succumbed to her injuries and died.
The police in their investigation concluded that the assailant gained entry in Rose Ann’s bedroom by breaking one of the steel bars that served as a barrier. He then hit her with an unidentified hard object in her head that later caused her death.
The victim’s body is still under medico-legal examination to check for vaginal penetration and to check for leads that may help in the investigation.
